AMA were commissioned to design a new 3 Classroom extension to Westerings Primary Academy in Hockley Essex to enable the school to achieve 2FE status.  The existing school is a single storey flat roof building typical of schools built in Essex in the early 1970’s.

The project was awarded through the Essex Framework and the brief was to design a stand-alone building in line with BB103 which was sympathetic in appearance to the existing building.

We opted for a timber frame construction that was sustainable which could be fabricated off site and assembled quickly to minimise the disruption to the school.

The works were completed in October 2018
