Oak Lodge was built on a half-acre plot in London Road Braintree for a private client. Due to planning restrictions the house had to be 1 1/2 storey. The client wanted a blend of contemporary open plan living with traditional construction techniques. The house has 4 bedrooms of which two are on the ground floor, an open plan dining area which was overlooked by a mezzanine gallery which also over looked the kitchen/ breakfast room. The small annex to the front of the property housed the garage, an additional bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The Build had a traditional pegged oak frame which was designed by the Architect and supplied by a specialist oak frame consultant. AMA has just been recommissioned by to extend the original house.
